On November 22nd and 23rd, 2023, the GO-VIKING consortium is set to host its third Progress Meeting at Vattenfall’s Ringhals Nuclear Power Plant (NPP). This hybrid event will showcase the project’s advancements over the last six months and chart the path ahead.

DAY 1: KNOWLEDGE EXCHANGE AND INNOVATIONS

The first day will kick off with a warm welcome, paving the way for in-depth discussions. Attendees will gain some insights into the Ringhals NPP with an overview by M. Adsten of Vattenfall. The GO-VIKING Project Office, represented by M. Gross and G. Niedermeyer of LGI and GRS, will present key project achievements.

Some of the Key Sessions include:

  • State of the Art and Stakeholder Outreach: Led by D. Vivaldi of IRSN, this session explores the latest trends in flow-induced vibrations (FIV) and analysis methodologies.
  • Fuel Assemblies Update: H. Hadžić fromFramatomewill share the latest FIV research related to fuel assemblies.
  • Advancements in Steam Generators: K. Zwijsen of NRGwill go in-depth on the topic of managing FIV in steam generators.
  • Multiphase Flows Insights: W. Benguigui of EDFdives into multiphase flows and experiments.
  • Fast-Running Methods and Best Practices: A. Papukchiev of GRSwill explain the impact of fast-running methods and best practices on FIV analysis.

DAY 2: EXPLORING INNOVATIONS AND SHARING INSIGHTS

The second day begins with a project management board evaluation, assessing progress and future steps. It wraps up with presentations on GO-VIKING’s education, training, and dissemination activities, led by P. Planquart of VKI.

In-Person Experience: Attendees can visit the Ringhals NPP simulator after an early lunch.
